Keyano College

Keyano College is a comprehensive community college serving the people of northeastern Alberta. Based in Fort McMurray, the College was originally established as an Alberta Vocational Centre in 1965 to address the local training needs of the rapidly expanding oilsands industry. Since that time, Keyano has grown into a modern college with three campuses and four learning centres serving over 3,000 full-time students annually.

Quality educational and training opportunities are available through three program divisions:

Academic and Career Programs, Trades and Heavy Industrial, and Community and Upgrading Education.

In addition to the full-time students it serves, Keyano College also specializes in workforce development programs for industry and business in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and serves over 6,000 community members annually through its non-credit courses, workshops and seminars.

In addition to the oil sands partnerships, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo's fire department and Keyano College have implemented an EMT-A and a paramedic program that will provide qualified graduates for recruitment in our region.
