Operations and Maintenance
The Operations and Maintenance Department is comprised of three divisions.
Infrastructure Division is responsible for sidewalks, signage, transit operations, traffic signal operations, and supplying mobile equipment services for municipal requirements. The infrastructure division is also responsible for maintaining all public roads within the municipality with the exception of private roads within condominium areas, private driveways and roads owned by industry. Highways are the responsibility of Alberta Infrastructure and Transportation. Maintenance of the public roads includes cleaning, snow removal and pot hole repairs. The division maintains 106 urban and rural facilities including municipal hall, pump houses and fire departments.

Fort Chipewyan Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the community airport, town roads and streets, landfill, water treatment plant, sewage lagoon, water distribution and sewer collection systems, municipal buildings, rural roads and the winter road.
